Stanley
Stanley makes vacuum-insulated drinkware built to hold temperature for hours rather than minutes. The appeal is straightforward: a drink that is still cold on the drive home, or still hot at the end of a shift, without a cooler bag involved.
Which Stanley should you choose?
Tumblers and cups — including the Quencher with its FlowState lid, which switches between a straw opening, a drink opening and a closed position. These are the car-cupholder, desk and gym option, sized for all-day sipping.
Bottles are the sealed, carry-in-a-bag option. Choose these over a tumbler if the container will be moving around rather than standing upright.
Mugs and cups suit hot drinks and commutes.
Lunchboxes and coolers extend the same insulation to food.
Stanley tumbler or bottle: which one?
The practical difference is the lid. A tumbler lid is designed for easy drinking and fits a cupholder, but it is not fully leak-proof — it is meant to travel upright. A bottle seals properly and can go in a bag on its side. If your container spends time in a rucksack, choose a bottle; if it lives in a cupholder or on a desk, choose a tumbler.
How big is a 30oz or 40oz Stanley?
Capacities are commonly quoted in ounces as well as litres, which causes confusion. As a rough guide, 30oz is about 0.89L, 40oz is about 1.18L. The larger sizes mean fewer refills but do not fit every cupholder, so check the fit if it is going in a car.
